Romania was never on my radar as a possible destination for a weekend getaway. Compared to its neighbouring countries, Romania was always less attractive since there are no direct flights from Copenhagen. However, on a recent business trip I suddenly found myself standing on the main square of Iasi (pronounced Yachi), the old capital of Romania in the Northeastern corner of the country. Much to my surprise, the city is blessed with numerous stunning and well-maintained historic sites. So by way of Instagram, I unexpectedly ended up sparking a massive interest among my friends to visit the city and the country.
