We drove back to Seattle, the beginning of our journey. This time, we seized all the opportunities to explore Seattle in the time span of two days. Luckily wildfire smoke from British Columbia began to blow away when we were in Seattle.
We drove for three hours from Vancouver, across Canada-US border, and arrived at Seattle. We stayed at Quality Inn & Suites Seattle Center which is located a bit further from the Space Needle than the first place we stayed.
For the two full days, we visited many places both by walking and driving. We visited to Space Needle and nearby place such as Chihuly Garden & Glass. We visited Pike Place Market, the market where the original Starbucks located. We visited Waterfront Park, the public park in the central waterfront, downtowm built on the site of the former Schwabacher Wharf. We further walked to Lake Union to see “The Sleepless in Seattle” houseboat. We also walked along Pioneer Square where Seattle’s original downtown was located since 1852. We drove to Kerry Park, the public park with iconic views of downtown Seattle. Then we drove to Old Ballard, walked around and had a dinner there. For all those places, Chihuly Garden & Glass impressed me the most because it is so original.
We were annoyed by the smoky haze when we were there. But when we looked back, we actually enjoyed our trip–it was such a great time and enriched our experience.
